You will be picked up at the Mexico City Airport and transferred to the bus station catch a bus to San Miguel de Allende on Day 1. Spend some free time in San Miguel before taking a bus to Guanajuato on Day 2. Immerse yourself in the history and culture of colourful Guanajuato on a city tour that takes you to the Museum of Mummies and to a scenic overlook point for panoramic views on Day 3. Return to Mexico City by bus and end your trip with an airport drop-off on Day 4.
Day by Day Itinerary:
Day 1: Mexico City Airport Pick-Up & Bus to San Miguel de Allende
Today you will be picked up at the Mexico City airport upon arrival and transferred to the bus station to catch your transfer to the charming and idyllic town of San Miguel de Allende. Upon arrival, get settled in to your accommodation and then enjoy the rest of the afternoon to walk around town and admire San Miguel’s hundreds of colonial churches, shady plazas and pretty architecture. Don’t miss the Parroquia de San Miguel de Allende and the Mirador Parque Benito Juarez. Have dinner on your own at one of the many exquisite gourmet Mexican restaurants and go out tonight to get a feel for the trendy modern side of San Miguel. Overnight in San Miguel de Allende.
Day 2: Bus San Miguel de Allende to Guanajuato
Enjoy a free morning in San Miguel before taking a short bus ride to nearby Guanajuato. You will be awestruck by Guanajuato’s colourful houses, narrow winding cobblestone streets, tunnels and stairways leading you into a magical labyrinth of history. Founded in 1559, this UNESCO World Heritage site will fill your soul with authentic Mexican experiences. Slip into one of its many theatres, museums, coffee shops and restaurants or walk up to the Pipila Monument overlook point for breathtaking panoramic views of the valley. Don’t miss out on the Callejon del Beso and the Universidad. Go out at night to catch a “callejoneada” for singing and dancing in the streets of Guanajuato. Overnight in Guanajuato.
Day 3: Guanajuato Walking Tour
